ONLY A FEW BOATS FISHING OFFSHORE AND IN THE ESTEROS

Dec. 31, 2004, Gary Graham, Baja On The Fly, Magdalena Bay, Mexico Fishing Report:

There’s “iffy” fishing weather on outside of Magdalena Bay, including rain. The few yachts traveling through the Magdalena Bay area reported fishing for a couple of marlin a day off of Punta Tasca, and fair wahoo fishing from the ridge up. There also were reports of lots of football-sized tuna at the Thetis Bank outside.

The Magdalena Bay esteros were lightly fished with mixed results including a few grouper and cabrilla. Rumors of a couple of whales being spotted up at Lopez Mateos has everyone anticipating the arrivals of the herds in the next few weeks. Magdalena Bay water temperature 69-75. Air temperature 64-71. Conditions: Scattered Clouds.
