OFFSHORE YACHTS FIND SPOTTY FISHING ACTION

Dec. 24, 2005, Gary Graham, Baja On The Fly, Magdalena Bay, Mexico Fly Fishing Report:

Yachts traveling up and down the coast outside Magdalena Bay have reported cooler temperatures and spotty fishing action offshore with just an occasional billfish, dorado and tuna to break up the travel routine after they get above the Finger Bank.

Inside the Magdalena Bay esteros, the bite continues, but unfortunately there were very few anglers to capitalize on the action. The few anglers fishing here found the Magdalena Bay snook tough as usual. However, there were enough sierra and pompano action to keep everyone smiling. Magdalena Bay water temperature 68-75 degrees; Air temperature 68-73 degrees; Wind West 6 m.p.h.; Conditions clear.
