LIGHT TACKLE OUTINGS PRODUCING SMALL DORADO FOR FISHING BOATS
Feb. 2, 2005, Gray Palmeter, Vikings Fleet, Mazatlan, Mexico Fishing report:
The Mazatlan bite this week on billfish again has been really great with a success rate of 80% of all our Deep Sea Fishing boats this last week coming in with either Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Sailfish or both. The largest catch of Marlin this week was a Blue Marlin of 250 pounds, Striped Marlin 125 pounds, and largest catch of Sailfish was 90 pounds.
Mazatlan Dorado fishing has been really great again this week with plenty of Dorado to go around. The Dorado have been 20-60 pounds.
The Yellowfin Tuna have finally decided to make a stop here to satisfy all those hungry to fight some Yellowfin Tuna..
There are still the occasional Mako Shark being spotted, though most people are wanting to pass on the shark and go fishing for the Dorado and Marlin.
The fishing for Snapper here in Mazatlan was really hot again this week as almost always.
The triggerfish here have been biting great the entire year. Plenty of fun for the entire family.
We are catching several small dorado (mahi-mahi) now on our Light Tackle fishing trips which makes this a great first fishing experience for the kids, or just to have a lot of fun with the entire family.
We are now getting into some really good numbers of sierra which are so much fun for the entire family to catch. Sierra are really great to make ceviche.
This past week has been really great on the Jack Crevalle (TORO). When you hook up with one of these guy's, you will always remember.
We are catching many other varieties of small game fish on our light tackle trips.
