NO SPORT BOATS FISHING LOCALLY BUT COMMERCIALS LOADING UP

Dec. 12, 2004, Sam Saenz, Puerto Santo Tomas Resort, Puerto Santo Tomas, Mexico Fishing Report:

The ocean has been calm all week long at Puerto Santo Tomas with very little wind and some fog conditions. Due to the upcoming holiday season, sport fishing activity at Puerto Santo Tomas has dropped to a minimum. For the last two weeks not a single sport fishing panga has gone out at Puerto Santo Tomas. However the local commercial panga fishermen have done excellent catching, loads of rockcod, lingcod and whitefish. Apparently some late season surface action has come up with the last two days. Schools of bonita have been spotted by the local Puerto Santo Tomas fishermen, and one gill net fishermen brought in two 40 pound white seabass.
