REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT RUMORED FOR LAND NORTH OF PUERTO

Oct. 31, 2005, Dan Fleming, Puerto Santo Tomas, Mexico Area Report:

I was just at Puerto Santo Tomas and saw no fish. The highway check point has been moved from its former location near Maneadero south of Ensenada to a spot just north of the big hill leading into the Santo Tomas valley. It is ugly and slow, a poor location.

Big money development wants the land between Puerto Santo Tomas and Punta Banda. It is now gated and public access is restricted. We hear rumors of a liquified natural gas terminal.

The net people want to put a colony of 50 nets outside of Puerto Santo Tomas. It seems the Mexicans are determined to go forward.
