LOTS OF SAILFISH FOUND NORTHWEST OF ROCA CORBETENA

Oct. 24, 2004, Juan Pablo Moll, Mr. Marlin, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Fishing:

It has been a great fishing week. Now that the tuna are in bigger schools that was something we all were waiting for. Also lots of Puerto Vallarta marlin at Corbetena and El Banco, most hooked up with live bait and lures. Northwest of Corbetena there are lots of sailfish, with the water deep blue and the temperature in the mid-80s. Closer to the shore, by Punta de Mita there's a beach called Carilleros. That's were the roosterfish hang out and we are catching them with goggle eyes. If you decide to stay inside the bay, some fishing boats have been catching sailfish and mahi-mahi on the south side. The color of the water there is also deep blue and the water temperature is in the 80s.
