SAILFISH AND DORADO FISHING 8 MILES SOUTH OF MARINA

Nov. 7, 2004, Juan Pablo Moll, Mr. Marlin, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Fishing Report:

Puerto Vallarta fishing is still hot even inside the bay. These past couple of days, pangas were catching Sailfish and Dorado by Los Arcos, 8 miles south of the marina, in nice clear water with lots of small bait (skipjacks). Out at Corbetena or El Banco the fishing is even better. Just past the Marietas there are also lots of Sailfish and Dorado, and with some lucky Marlin. Yesterday was a really good day at Corbetena. Around 8 to 12 Puerto Vallarta fishing boats were fishing there and everyone had a strike of Marlin or Tuna. Some landed their fish, and some didn't. At the bank it wasn't that great. Looks like all the bait is around Corbetena and also the fish. Puerto Vallarta water temp is in the mid-80s. The color of the water is deep blue and there is lots of small skipjack and tuna bait.
