SPORTFISHING BOAT K.W.'S KARMA RUNS FROM CABO TO PUERTO VALLARTA

Sept. 11, 2005, Bob Manroe, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:

We took my boat K.W.'s Karma from Cabo San Lucas to Puerto Vallarta last week. The weather has been great at Puerto Vallarta, with calm seas and light winds.

We fished 2 days at El Bajo. The water has been green and 91 degrees. There are lots of yellowfin tuna. They seem hungry but very touchy. I've only seen 1 small marlin caught.

Yesterday we stayed out late to fish the tide change. I got a nice strike on a Shimano 30 spooled with 60 pound test and 130 pound fluorocarbon leader.

Two hours later we boated this long and skinny, 82 inches long and 56 inch girth monster. When we reached the dock at Puerto Vallarta 5 hours later, the fish weighed 305 pounds on my certified scale. Hopefully I'll have more like this to report next week.
