MARLA II SPORTFISHING BOAT LANDS 220-POUND YELLOWFIN TUNA

July 1, 2006, A 220-pound cow yellowfin tuna is landed at Roca Corbeteña on the Marla II, Danny Osuna, Marla's Sportfishing:

Angler Tony Barulich of California caught a nice 220-pound cow yellowfin tuna while fishing at Roca Corbeteña aboard our charter boat the Marla II with Capt. Danny Osuna. We were fishing in Puerto Vallarta waters in flat sea conditions with a water temperature of 88 degrees.

The big fish are showing up slowly now at Puerto Vallarta. Marla's fleet had an excellent fishing week. Roca Corbeteña and El Banco are loaded up with a lot of bait. You can make all the skipjack baits you need in seconds. They are really easy to catch. They are biting anything. This week we got the 220-pound tuna and 2 marlin, a black and a blue, a lot of pargos, and some nice sizes of dorado.

Luis Solemidad from San Francisco, California, also fished on the Marla II and he got a 400-pound black marlin with Capt. Danny Osuna. This black was caught at Roca Corbeteña. We tried to release this marlin, but it battled to the death, so we had to bring it in. All these fish are nailing the skippies really good.

Capt. Scott Osuna from the Marla III also did really well this week, catching a lot of big pargos, rainbow runners, marlin, and some smaller tunas.

We figure next week is going to be excellent for the big boys at Puerto Vallarta.
