SPORTFISHING WATER TEMPERATURES AT 63 DEGREES OFF PUERTO PENASCO

March 8, 2005, Arthur Pina, Rocky Point, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:

I just returned from fishing at Rocky Point, after spending 5 days there. I went fishing out of Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) on the Sea Senor with Capt. Jon Kay on Wednesday 3/2/05. We went 45 miles south on a 180 degree heading from Rocky Point. The water temperature was up 2 degrees, reading 63 degrees. After a couple of stops and with 20 mackerel in our bait well we got there at low tide. Jon hooked up first with a 16-pound white seabass and I was next with a monster 30 pounder and, on and on. In just under 2 hours we caught all the fish that we could handle. I also caught a 65-pound gulf grouper. Rocky Point fishing weather was beautiful.
