SPORTFISHING TRIP ABOARD THE BOAT ARCA DE NOE

Nov. 14, 2005, Lloyd Robinette, Rocky Point (Puerto Peñasco), Mexico Sportfishing Trip Report:

Fishing out of Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), on my boat the Arca de Noe were Lloyd Robinette, Paul Robinette, Joe VanCamp and Marine Richman.

On the trip down Nov. 11, 2005, out of Casa Grande to Puerto Penasco we saw many motorcycles enroute. It turned out to be a biker rally in Puerto Penasco with 5,000 bikers expected. The town was quite lively and noisy with all the bikers, but everyone was very well behaved.

Out on the water there was nary a biker to be seen or heard.

Puerto Penasco weather was in the 70's with wind calm in the morning. We bait fished at 10 miles out and by 9:30 a.m. the wind was building.

At 20 miles out the wind dictated we stay close in. We diverted over to the Caballo area 22 miles southeast of Puerto Penasco and fished with one charter boat Lee Lee and one other.

Currents were strong and we drifted at 1.2 m.p.h. with a reef anchor deployed. After 2 hours of fishing we boated 3 fish in the 2 pound range. At 3 p.m. we headed to port in a stiff breeze giving a wet rough ride into head seas.

Being out on the water even in less than ideal conditions was fantastic.
