OFFSHORE SPORTFISHING VERY GOOD FOR MIXED SPECIES

Oct. 24, 2004, Jon Lambert, San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico sportfishing:

Bob King and I just got back from a fantesticle (I guess that means balls to the walls) trip to San Carlos, Oct 16th thru 22nd. The seas were benign and the San Carlos fishing divine. Willing dorado to 40 pounds were being caught daily (our best around 25lbs) as well as many blue and striped marlin. A sailfish measured 80 inches. Thankfully, she was fine when we put her back in. Football tuna (yellowfin), dorado and billfish were mostly being caught from 10 to 25 miles out on the direction du jour, 180. Fish, however, could be caught anywhere from 150 to 240 in water that was 82 to 84 degrees.
