CALMING SEAS BRING IMPROVED FISHING FOR TUNA AND DORADO

May 6, 2005, Craig Collins, San Carlos, Mexico Fishing Report:

We went to San Carlos last Friday and Saturday. The wind was way too much for our boat, with reported 5-6 foot seas offshore. We stayed inshore and picked up some barracuda, pargo, and cabrilla. The fishing outside was slower than during the previous week, a few tuna and 1-2 dorado per boat. All that changed on Sunday! Reports are much better now. Winds calmed, and the surface temperature has gone into the 70s in most of the area offshore. Lots of boats reporting limits of tuna to 40 pounds and many dorado.
