PICK FISHING FOR YELLOWTAIL IN WIND AT PUNTA SAN ANTONIO

Nov. 27, 2005, Fernando Almada, Fish Stalker, San Carlos, Sonora, Fishing Trip Report:

I went out fishing at San Carlos on by boat the Fish Stalker with brothers Luis Fernando and Alejandro Liogon from Hermosillo, on Saturday, Nov. 27.

We got 3 giant squid for bait at San Antonio Point and headed to San Pedro Nolasco, running into strong winds and rough seas. We had to come back without fishing the Island and ended up back in San Antonio Point for midday yellowtail trolling.

We got a good size yellowtail, and lost another one to a bent open swivel. It was a strong fish was taking line with all the drag set in on a Penn 6/0 reel. We were fishing with trolling wire and using Strikepro Magnums. Green was the good lure color. We had 3 strikes with the same lure and lost it on the last fish! The fishing water temperature at San Carlos was at 67 degrees.
