4 GOOD YELLOWTAIL CAUGHT BY
CHARTER FISHING BOAT CATCH-22 SUERTE

Jan. 15, 2006, Fernando Almada, Catch-22 Sportfishing Adventures, San Carlos, Mexico fishing report:

I went fishing out of San Carlos with Gustavo Guerrero and brothers Alejandro and Luis Fernando Liogon on a Saturday afternoon fishing trip on the "Catch-22 Suerte", a maiden voyage with friends, on one of the boats on the Catch-22 Sportfishing Adventures fleet from San Carlos.

This boat is a fishing machine! The morning was little slow but we put the time in and it paid off. We got into a nice afternoon run of yellowtail. In a couple of hours from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. we got 4 nice fish and lost another one, all of them around 20-plus pounds.

We trolled diving lures on wire and landed 3 fish trolling, all of them on the same lure, a proven producer: The "Green Gorilla" from StrikePro.

The other fish was caught on light spinning gear, casting a Salas white and blue jig to a boiling spot and took me about 35 minutes to work the fish to the boat. Lots of fun!

After the yellowtail disappeared, we went to do some inshore bottom fishing and did great on triggers and mojarras. We had a great day of winter fishing. On this trip, both Luis Fernando Liogon and Gustavo Guerrero landed their first ever yellowtail, and they are now hooked!

The water temperature was at 71 degrees, with calm waters and no wind on a cloudy afternoon in San Carlos.
