WINDS BRING SURF WAVES TO SAN FELIPE BAY

Sept. 19, 2004, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Town Report:

Hola everyone from San Felipe...after tracking "JAVIER" for several days, we are pleased that he's decided to swerve off to the East and skip our area....(even though we could have used the rain of course)...and also the predicted earthquake (predicted for the Imperial Valley area on or just before Sept 5th) hasn't happened yet.

The San Felipe high yesterday was 96F and it's been quite humid...right now it is 88F with the humidity at 57%...it feels DAMP out there. But the days are getting shorter and the sun is tracking lower...winter is definitely coming... Yesterday, probably because of "JAVIER" there was actually SURF here on the bay at San Felipe...very unusual...it attracted a large group of people into the water...and today we have a fast running tide with an iron grey sea...the San Felipe shrimp season is almost upon us...the fishermen who live next door to me have been working feverishly for two weeks now...before we know it the Gringo's will be pouring in and another Shrimp Festival will be upon us...I must be getting old...seems like two months since the last one...asi es la vida...hasta luego y vaya con Dios from the book store by the bay.
