San Felipe, Mexico

SHRIMP SEASON BEGINS FOR
LOCAL COMMERCIAL FISHERMEN

Sept. 26, 2004, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Report:

San Felipe was a little cooler this last week of September.....as I write this it is 79F with relative humidity of 26%...and it really feels nice! We are able to sleep very well at night without air conditioning. If San Felipe weather were like this all year round none of us would be able to afford to live here!

The last couple of days we have had the pleasure of entertaining an Anthropology student from Mexico City who is studying the fishing industry and culture of this area.....she is spending each day interviewing all kinds of people: covering the whole spectrum....and she has already taught us more about Mexican culture than we had picked up in 11 years of living here.....fascinating! The bay is slightly wrinkled this morning...and a lovely soft shade of jade blue.....and all is well here at the start of San Felipe shrimp season.
