SOME CORVINA CAUGHT AT PAPA FERNANDEZ LANDING

Dec. 3, 2004, Doug Magee, Papa Fernandez, Gonzaga Bay, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Fishing Report:

The weather has been a little cool, so the water temperature is down, way below the norm, and as a result we have not done much fishing.

The corvina fishing from the beach as been so-so. On Nov. 29, our grandson, Max Buccowich, of June Lake, and his friend Kyle Rock, of Fullerton, caught corvina at sunrise from the beach in front or our house. Triggerfish on squid bait has been good. Some big ones have been taken to 6 pounds. Large schools of Skipjack are working around the Islands and at Punta Final, but they just do not want anything we have shown them. Most of those taken were snagged. Lots of tasty Pompano are around the Islands.
