LOTS OF VISITORS IN TOWN THIS WEEK

May 8, 2005, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Town Report:

Hola everybody from San Felipe where the weather has been perfect for the last two days and looks to continue to be. The temperature on the balcony right now at 9:45 a.m. is 70 degrees, but the forecast is for a high today of around 85 degrees with abundant sunshine for the next several days, and the temperature reaching the 90s by Thursday. The humidity at San Felipe is 47% and right now there is no wind. The sky is light blue and slightly hazy and the tide is way out with lots of people paddling around in the water. It's a postcard day.

Lots of people in San Felipe today. I don't think they ALL came for Club de Pesca's Annual Chili Cook Off, which was held last night, just most of them. According to Karen Bradley, grand prize winner of two years ago, there were several really good entries this time, a difficult decision.

My favorite time of year in San Felipe is just starting: when people come up to the balcony right off the beach, barefoot and with their dogs panting from a long run in the sand. My husband always has water out for the dogs; the coffee shop has everything else for the two-leggers. It's so laid back and relaxed, and everyone is in such good spirits, viva la vida por el mar. Until next time, especially all the moms out there, vaya con Dios from the San Felipe bookstore by the bay.
