CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR'S FESTIVITIES UNDERWAY

Dec. 17, 2005, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Town Report:

Hola everyone from San Felipe where we are having a slightly warmer snap. Right now it is 69 degrees at 10:35 a.m. on the bookstore balcony and the humidity is 41 percent. It feels very pleasant in the sun, and there is no wind, so people are taking off at least the top layers of their clothing.

Yesterday was quite lovely at San Felipe too, with clear blue skies (today it is lightly overcast) and a high of 68 degrees.

Everyone at San Felipe is getting ready, of course, for next weekend, which is Christmas, and the following week which is nearly always very busy with lots of tourists here for Christmas and New Year's weeks. Of course the festivities have already begun.

The night before last my neighbors threw a party that was still going strong at 6:30 a.m. The group from El Dorado will be doing their annual Parade of Lights and Santa Visit to parts of downtown San Felipe on Christmas Eve. They will distribute candy and small gifts to the local children. This is the fourth year this group of Gringos, which started out quite small and has grown and grown, will be downtown with their parade. Until next time, vaya con Dios all, from the bookstore by the bay.
