MANY VISITORS IN TOWN FOR NEW YEAR'S CELEBRATION

Dec. 30, 2005, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Mexico Town Report:

Hola everyone, and the last report of the year from San Felipe. Until today San Felipe weather has been perfect all week, and today it is still very nice at 65 degrees on the balcony and 49 percent humidity at 11:50 a.m. Yesterday the high at San Felipe was 83 degrees and the low was only 53, which was really pleasant. Right now the sky is overcast and the bay is grey and very calm at high tide. It looks like the wind storms from the north will probably not effect us here until sometime next week. That means a balmy New Year's Eve.

Last New Year's Eve was also really nice as I recall, although of course at the stroke of midnight and for about 15 minutes afterwards the whole town of San Felipe sounds and looks like a battle zone. San Felipe has been flooded with visitors all week but that is typical for the week after Christmas, a lot of business being done.

It would be really fortunate if the ATM people and the bank could somehow arrange for the machines to give out small bills. It is almost impossible for the vendors on the street to change a 500 peso bill and they lose so much business because of it. I wonder if this could be done. Until next year, happy holidays everyone and lets all pray for peach in 2006. Vaya con Dios all from the San Felipe bookstore by the bay.
