CHARTER BOAT CATCHES GOOD IN UNSETTLED WEATHER CONDITIONS

Aug. 7, 2004, Luis Duhart, Palmilla Bay Sportfishing, San Jose del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

We had a very good fishing week at San Jose del Cabo. At the beginning of the week we had clear skies and blue water, but little bait, so anglers were catching dorados and very small tunas with lures at the Gordo Banks. By mid week we had a few clouds and rough water, but even then fishing was good, mainly small tunas and dorados.

On thursday evening we had some rain and thunder storms. This caused dirty waters and by the morning we had lots of bait, sardines mostly, and the weather is clear and 89 degrees. San Jose del Cabo fishing has been excellent these past two days. We had about 10 to 15 tuna, from 15 to 40 pounds, and dorado around 15 pounds per boat.

Lloyd Allen and his biddy Chuck, went with Capt. Gustavo in the Cristine super panga and fished at the Vinorama-Iman area for tunas around 25 pnds and dorados 12 pnds and a nice pargo. On the way back, they caught more tuna by Punta Colorada with lures. They ran out of bait at Vinorama.
