MANY SIERRA PLUS SOME MIXED SPECIES FOR PALMILLA BOATS

April 10, 2005, Luis Duhart, Palmilla Bay Sportfishing, San Jose del Cabo, Baja, Mexico Report:

Another exciting fishing week in San Jose del Cabo (Los Cabos). We had a total of 18 boats going fishing this week, most of them fishing close to shore around Punta Ballena and Cerro Colorado, with sardines as bait. Lots and lots of sierras, some small cabrillas, some pargos, and a few giant squids. Most boats got about 10 to 15 fish each.

Some marlin of 150 to 160 pounds were released. They were found while fishing about 30 miles out, in front of Punta Ballena. Very few football tuna were caught, about 20 miles out, if you could find them. The weather is splendid for sportfishing, and we are waiting for the water to warm in the San Jose del Cabo vacation area.
