SURFACE YELLOWTAIL ON THE CHARTER BOAT ROMMY

Sept. 6, 2004, Erik Landesfeind, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico fishing:

My girlfriend Rachel Baker, myself and my friends Jeevan Gore and Mark Arve fished Saturday and Sunday at San Quintin on the Rommy out of Pedro's Pangas with Captain Hector.

The first day we fished Ben's Rock, the 6 Fathom Spot, San Ramon, and San Martin Island for 6 yellowtail from 15 to 24 lbs. All of the fish came on the surface iron and where caught early in the morning at Ben's Rock.

We headed down the beach to El Socorro on Sunday morning and ended up with 6 yellowtail from 12 to 20+ lbs and 5 white seabass in the 20 to 25 lb range. All fish came on the iron (surface and yo-yo) except for a yellowtail that Rachel caught on a Big Hammer Swim bait.
