San Quintin, Mexico:
Barracuda Caught On Every Cast For Local Anglers

March 6-7, 2005, Andrew Moss, San Quintin fishing, Baja California, Mexico:

We stayed at the Old Mill. Jeff Reid, Chris Vail, and I went fishing at San Quintin 2 days with Pedro’s Pangas for limits of bottom fish and barracuda. San Quintin fishing weather conditions were good, with a little wind in the afternoon. Bait was easy to make in the bay.

On day 1, we went fishing at Socorro, south of San Quintin, for limits of Sand Bass and Calico Bass, drifting near the lobster traps, green-silver Fish Traps were the bait of choice.

On day 2, we went fishing at the San Quintin 15 spot in the early morning for quick limits of healthy lingcod, red rockcods, whitefish to 8 lbs, and 12 lb sheephead. In the late morning we moved to Isla San Martin, fishing for nice action on barracuda and calico bass. Surface jigs did the trick with the 'cuda, with a fish on every cast.
