San Quintin, Mexico:
Cold Winter Weather, But Calm Seas And Steady Bottom Fishing

March 26, 2005, Sarai Garcia, Don Eddie's Landing, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico fishing:

This week San Quintin had cold fishing weather ranging from high 40s to low 70s, and it was windy and cloudy. Despite the weather, anglers kept fishing, with good catches of bottom fish. Pangas were returning to their home base early because of the winds.

San Quintin fishing water temperatures were ranging from 58 to 60 degrees with choppy waters. Saturday was a change in the weather. It was sunny and warm, with almost no wind and slightly murky waters but calm seas.

The murky waters were most likely caused by the river flowing into the sea, bringing all kinds of debris. The waters were calm all day. Don Eddie's pangas fished the 240, 115, and the Ben's Rock with good results catching reds, lingcod, and some sheephead. We are hoping the weather will continue this way.
