San Quintin, Mexico:
Full Ice Chests For "Go Baja" Fishing Group

June 11-12, 2005, Tim Moore, Go Baja, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico:

On the weekend of June 11th and 12th, Dave Shanor of Hesperia, Calif., Henry Kim of Pomona, Calif. and Bob Hopfauf of Downey, Calif., chartered a two day fishing trip to San Quintin with Go Baja and fished out of Tiburon's Pangas.

On Saturday the 11th, they fished with Captain Juan in one of Tiburon's cruisers and headed out to look for yellowtail with no luck so they headed down by Socorro and loaded up on lingcod, rockcod, red snapper, sandbass and sugar bass. The seas were rough with overcast skies and cool weather all day.

On Sunday the 12th, the trio headed back out fishing with Captain Lupe aboard the super panga Cucajuan. The seas were calmer and they returned to San Quintin in three hours with two 120-quart ice chests overflowing with large lings, reds, sand bass and red snapper. The spot they fished is one of Captain Lupe's secret spots. Approximately 45 minutes out from the mouth of San Quintin bay, running at 25 knots.
