SOME GOOD YELLOWFIN TUNA
DAYS FOR PEDRO'S PANGAS BOATS

Aug. 28, 2005, Pete Hillis, Pedro's Pangas, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico sportfishing:

We had 22 boats fishing out of San Quintin this week. Yellowfin tuna have been playing hide-n-go-seek. Some days we catch two per rod, but then some days nothing. The fish have been 15 to 20 miles off the point on a 240 heading.

James and Doug Minor, Chuck and Charles Tate, and Dan Guerrero from San Diego fished on the Garron with Alex. They got 11 yellowfin tuna, the largest at 35 pounds.

Some San Quintin sportfishing boats opted to fish the island and the 240 spot for yellowtail, large rockcod and large lingcod. Charles Lee and his family fished the area on the Skipjack with good results.

San Quintin fishing weather has been extremely hot. As of this report, 9:30 a.m., it was already at 72 degrees.
