Near Freezing Night Temperatures And 8 Boats Fishing

Fishing water temperatures at San Quintin are at 58 degrees.

The air temperature is near freezing at night and early mornings, about 35 to 40 degrees. It warms up to the low 70's during the day. It was windy at San Quintin on Wednesday and Thursday, but the weekend it was flat. From Friday through Sunday, the weather was great.

Pedro's Pangas had 8 boats out fishing.

Rick Fraysure brought a group of 11 down. Fishing on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, the three boats fished the 240 spot for limits of rockcod, a few lingcod, and 2 yellowtail to 22 pounds. Saturday's jackpot went to Ronnie Martinez of Lancaster, California, with a 22 pound yellowtail.

Reports came in Saturday of white seabass showing up at Socorro, south of San Quintin. Boats went to Socorro on Sunday but as of this fishing report, no white seabass have been landed. Will report more next week.
