LORETO, BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES, AND MULEGE BAJA FISHING REPORTS
July 9, 2006, Steve Stevens, Baja California, Mexico:
I fished 2 days in Mulege, July 2-3, 2006, and caught a few small 10 pound Dorado.
Then I went to Loreto and fished 4 days with Andres Cota driving my boat and we caught limits of big Dorado, 25 pounds to 50 pounds every day along with 1 striped marlin and 1 sailfish. Bait was everywhere in the morning with squid, so there was no need to buy bait from the pangueros.
June 21-25, 2006, 28 guys from the Jamul Tuna Club went to Bahia de los Angeles on our 10th annual trip and we caught limits of 12 to 44 pound yellowtail. I fished with Igor Galvan on his super panga again and like last year we seemed to have the better fish for the trip.
Igor had to leave Friday for Ensenada where he was entered in an off-road race driving a class 7 truck and we meet him a week later in El Rosario at the Pemex where he proudly showed us his second place trophy. Not bad for a panguero!
