JAMUL TUNA CLUB MAKES THREE-DAY
FISHING TRIP TO BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES
June 25, 2004, Max Stevens, Bahia de los Angeles fishing, Baja California, Mexico:
Fished 3 days fishing at L.A. Bay last week! Eighteen guys from the Jamul Tuna Club fished 3 days in Bahia De Los Angeles with limits every day of 10 to 15 lb Yellowtails.
Several members also caught some nice 20 to 25 cabrilla at the South end of La Guardia.
On Friday my 12 yr old stepson Sean Stepina won the $70 jack pot with a very nice 27 lb yellowtail caught on 25 lb line and live bait.
We stayed at Guillermo's Motel and used his pangas to fish. My group fished with Igor on his new super panga with that sweet 225 Honda Outboard and had one of the best times ever in Baja.
Igor speaks better English than me and enjoys fishing and talking to his customers. Our dinners were cooked my Pete Saridakas, owner of the Greek Sombero restaurant in Jamul, on his personal grill that he hauled all the way to Bahia de los Angeles. He bought some Carne Asada in Tecate that was "the best I have ever tasted in 31 years of going to Baja".
The Motel now has Air Conditioning all night long for $10 extra per night and well worth it! The roads into Bahia de los Angeles were in good shape, but watch your speeds. The Cop's are using Radar!
