VERY FEW ANGLERS ARE PRESENT IN BAJA'S
BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES FISHING AREA
Jan. 9, 2005, Abraham Vazquez, Camp Gecko, Bahia de los Angeles fishing, Baja California, Mexicos Report:
Fishing at Bahia de los Angeles is good, but there are very few fisherman here. The yellowtail are in their usual winter waters at Bajo Guadalupe and at Los Machos, hitting on jigs and on bait, and the yellowtail are in the 20-pound range.
There is a shortage of bait at L.A. Bay because of the sea surface cold water temperature, which is 60 degrees in most of the Bahia de Los Angeles fishing area. Bahia de los Angeles weather this past week has been very nice, and we only had one day of wind. The skies have been clear and sunny. The last few storms that have hit Southern California have not made it this far. The fishing on the local scene at L.A. Bay is good for bottom fish and some halibut close to shore, there are large numbers of barracuda in the bay. There are reports of good halibut fishing from shore, just by casting Krocodiles. Bahia de los Angeles air temperatures are 70 degrees by day and 52 at night.
The L.A. Bay road is in great shape, and the gas station is almost complete. The desert is very green.
To the family with the two teenage boys that took my cat, please return it. His is name is Mitch. It is not a stray. It is well fed, fixed, has his shots, and is a great cat and my companion. It does not need to get "rescued."
