BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES FISHING IS FAIR
FOR BOTTOM FISH BUT NO YELLOWTAIL

April 6, 2005, Abraham Vazquez, Camp Gecko, Bahia de los Angeles, Baja California, Mexico Report:

Fishing at Bahia de los Angeles is fair at the moment. There are some bottom fish at the local islands and inside Bahia de los Angeles (L.A. Bay)s, and some good fishing for leopard grouper, but no yellowtail in the area to speak of. This is normal for this time of year. Bait starting to show up in big schools, but the main problem with fishing has been the winds, and also the squid. They started showing up in the Bahia de los Angeles fishing area a couple of weeks ago and seem to be coming into the area more and more .

The weather is fair at Bahia de los Angeles, in the upper 70’s and the low 60’s during the night. Winds have been strong with very few nice days and lots of windy ones. The humidity is 60%, and the water temperature is between 59-63 degrees.

The gnats are here at Bahia de los Angeles, and stingrays also are here now. The road conditions are great. The desert around Bahia de los Angeles is green and beautiful. The gas station has gas but they are not selling yet, so maybe soon. Hopefully I will launch our new boat Gecko IV tomorrow, if the wind lets me.
