CABRILLA, SQUID, AND YELLOWTAIL FOUND
April 6, 2005, Roger Crenshaw, San Francisquito fly-in report, Baja California, Mexico:
I just back from San Francisquito. Wind kept us off the water two out of four days. However, we were able to slay the cabrilla and Humboldt squid, and the yellowtail are in, breezing around but hard to hook. We were seeing them working on top a lot, while fishing, especially north of the port. There is lots of bait on the meter. All the signs are there for a bumper fishing year. I can't remember the yellowtail that big and breezing and boiling in early April before. The water temperature at San Francisquito is 61 degrees. |
