YELLOWTAIL AND A NICE BLACK SEA BASS CAUGHT WITH
BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES FISHING GUIDE CAPT. IGOR GALVAN

June 29, 2005, Eddie Abate, Bahia de los Angeles, Baja California, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:

Last week, I took my cousin, Tony Scheetz of Texas, to Bahia de los Angeles (L.A. Bay) on a fishing trip. We fished three days with Igor Galvan and as usual he put us on the fish. We caught yellowtail up to 35 pounds, grouper, cabrilla and topped off the trip with a black sea bass. Tony, who does not fish much, caught the big fish. The road all the way in to Bahia de los Angeles was in great shape and we had calm seas. With great fishing and plenty of cold beer, we had a great trip.

We fished around Smith Island and at the south end of the big island, on June 20 through 22. Igor said the water was in the 70's, sea conditions were calm with the last day getting wind in the afternoon.

Making bait was slow but we were eventually able to fill up the bait tanks with mackerel. Most of our fish were caught on bait.
