ESCALERA NAUTICA ROAD IS BEING PAVED TO
PUNTA LA GRINGA AT THE NORTH END OF BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES
Dec. 20, 2005, Abraham Vazquez, Camp Gecko, Bahia de los Angeles, Mexico Fishing Report:
Bahia de los Angeles (L.A. Bay) fishing is still fair. Yellowtail are scarce, but there are lots of bottom fish in the catches, and triggerfish from shore.
The weather at Bahia de los Angeles is in the mid to high 60's and the low 50’s during the night. Winds have been strong out of the north. Right now it is nice and the water temperature is between 63-67 degrees. Road conditions to Bahia de los Angeles are great, and gasoline here is $2.11 dollars per gallon.
The Fonatur people are still pushing for the Escalera Nautica thing and now they have started paving the road to Punta la Gringa big time, and doing a good job actually.
The dirt road south from Bahia de los Angeles to San Francisquito is getting graded. There are a lot of rumors of a big land sale and all 80 members of the ejido getting $10 million dollars each. Well, sorry to disappoint all those that believe in Santa, no such thing has happened yet and the chances of this are very slim. Rumors sound much nicer than reality, but they just don't put much gasoline in the car.
