A GOOD VACATION TRIP TO EAST CAPE'S RANCHO BUENA VISTA
Oct. 6, 2004, Dan Rothermel, East Cape, Baja Mexico:
Bob Good, Ken Shafer and Dan Rothermel from Hershey, Pa. recently spent a few days at Rancho Buena Vista. Ken Shafer Caught a 40-pound Wahoo as well as his first Dorado, Tuna, Pargo & Bonita.
Dan caught his first Sailfish and after release the fish didn't look good. Dan promptly donned mask, fins and snorkel jumped overboard. He revived the fish by pushing it through the water for a few minutes. After returning to the boat Captain Gilberto Castro proclaimed him as "Muy loco".
Bob had his First ever Blue Marlin hooked up while fishing on the Jalapeno. The Large fish was not in the mood to be caught and threw the hook early in the fight.
The awesome East Cape fishing was only out done by the staff at "the Ranch". The staff made every effort to ensure a wonderful stay. Sushi w/wasabi, Salsa and ceviche served poolside, great meals and incredible accommodations made for a trip of a lifetime for the fisherman and their wives.
The Wahoo was caught on board the Christina. The sailfish we caught was on the Helena, Capt. Gilberto Castro. And the Marlin was on the Jalapeno. We fished for three days. Because of the way our wives were treated at the ranch they want us to re-book for December!
