Fishing at East Cape hasn't been half bad of late. The Dorado bite is still pretty steady although there isn't much poundage coming in. Still, anglers are having some fun. East Cape Striped Marlin fishing has cooled a bit but there's still some being landed. We're seeing next to perfect air temperatures with a range of 57-82 degrees. There has been little or no wind to disturb the fishing at East Cape as days and seas are mostly calm. The moon is waning from full to last quarter so we'll look for the fishing to pick up a bit. Bait-wise, we've got mackerel.
As far as the Striped Marlin bite, East Cape anglers are having success to the north off Punta Pescadero in the vicinity of the shark buoys. A few Stripers were also landed to the south off La Ribera, 4-10 miles. Dorado is much the same. Several Sierra were landed to the south off La Ribera. Hoochies did the trick there.
