WATER TEMPERATURES DROP IN THE EAST CAPE FISHING AREA
March 12, 2005, Axel Valdez, Buena Vista Beach Resort, East Cape fishing, Mexico:
Total East Cape fishing boats out: 13. Fishermen: 43. Weather Temperature: High 70-Mid 80's. Water Temperature: 68 degrees- 72 degrees. Catch including released fish: Striped Marlin 8; Dorado 8; Roosterfish 2; Snapper 8; Amberjack 1; Skip Jack 2; Sierra 6.
This week, the East Cape fishing water temperature dropped a little as a cold current came in. The air temperature was in the 70's to high 80's with a little wind, not many complaints on the weather.
The fish moved out a little this past week. Offshore fishing at East Cape is still very good for marlin, but not as good as last week.
In inshore fishing, not many East Cape anglers are going for inshore species, still the roosters continue to show up, it is definitely a good sign.
Successful lures were the same as last week, Petrolero and bleeding mackerel. Bait used was mackerel.
Highlight of the Week: Mr. Hazard started his 2005 fishing season with a "not too chuby day" 3 released marlin in a day.
Tom Linck and his friend caught a nice striper plus a dorado. They fished with Ramon on the 3 Hermanos. Mrs. Angie Bourasan from Michigan fished caught a beautiful dorado while fishing with Alejandro on the Dusty B II.
