TWENTY-TWO MARLIN CAUGHT DURING 3-DAYS OF
FISHING OUT OF BUENA VISTA BEACH RESORT
April 1-7, 2005, Axel Valdez, Buena Vista Beach Resort, East Cape, Baja fishing, Mexico:
Total East Cape sportfishing boats out 14. Fishermen 48. Weather Mid 70-Low 80s. Water Temperature 69-72 degrees. Catch including released fish: Striped Marlin 30. Dorado 1. Snapper 11. Jack Crevalle 4. Amberjack 1. Pompano 1. Cabrilla 5. Skip Jack 20. Sierra 2.
East Cape fishing water still about the same as the past two weeks. It blew a little during the week, and the worst was Wednesday, the remaining of the week was excellent for fishing.
Marlin, a lot and just in front of La Rivera. Dorado are up north, and not that many, this is by El Cardonal. Tuna fishing at East Cape is mostly far about 40 miles out, and it is a flip of a coin to find them.
This week's fishing in the East Cape vacation area was all about the excellent marlin fishing. My brother fished with a TV crew for 3 days and they caught 22 marlin.
East Cape inshore fishing continues to be very good, with nice pargo, cabrilla and sierra. In other words, do not forget to bring your light tackle outfit.
Bleeding mackerel was the hot lure this past week at East Cape.
It was great fishing for stripers this past week and it is close, so close that you can paddle out.
