Even with the great weather that the East Cape vacation area is having, our fishing water seems to want to stay cold, well cold for us. If you like hot weather, but not that hot, now is the time. The weather has been wonderful, with a nice breeze.
Early in the week our hotel fishing fleet was going South to Los Frailes, Meganos Blancos, but later on the week they found more action North and most of everyone started going North up to the 88 bank.
In offshore fishing at East Cape most everyone was seeing double digit stripers, but getting them to bite was completely another issue.
Tuna were only found last weekend, but only for a day.
Dorado are very small and everyone is releasing most of them. It is been a tough week, for anything but marlin.
Inshore East Cape fishing was more consistent but it was not its usual as we had a long waits to get the fish to bait.
There are no sardina, and the live bait isn't its best. Everyone is taking some but plenty as anybody would want. Good thing we have some frozen ballyhoo as they seem to be working better.
We have had fishing guests telling us that they have never seen so many marlin being so little hungry. They are there. You can see them, but they just are not hungry.
