LOS BARRILES FISHING TRIP WITH AWESOME SPORTFISHING FLEET

I and six of my friends fished out of Los Barriles at East Cape, Mexico, between the 18th and 22nd, on the Awesome Sportfishing Fleet. East Cape fishing weather was great. Unfortunately there was way too much bait in the water and a great big full moon made fishing fair to poor.

We got a total of 5 marlin, 36 tuna, and 4 dorado. One day we saw over 50 marlin on the surface and at least 20 sailfish that wanted nothing of our dead ballyhoo.

The one day we had live bait. It didn't help. All in all, it beat work.

The Mexican authorities would not let me carry on duct tape, leader coil or all of my reels, which I had previously told it was okay. San Diego had no problem on the way down. The officials at the metal detector said that the rule was changed 5 days before. That was the only hiccup on a great East Cape fishing trip.
