EAST CAPE LEGEND BOBBY VAN WORMER SIGNS A COPY
OF THE BOOK "THE UNFORGETTABLE SEA OF CORTEZ"

June 23, 2005, Patrick Burke, Los Barriles, East Cape, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

My fishing buddies and myself just got back from Los Barriles on our annual fishing trip. We sent seven boats in for three days, caught eight marlin and 17 tuna.

This is my first year in six years of fishing the East Cape I came home with no Dorado. I don't think many other people did either as we saw very few Dorado flags. The Marlin were relatively easy to find but getting into some tuna was a lot of work.

Special thanks to Julio and Alan the captain and mate of "El Loco Two," for getting us into some tuna on our last day. They worked very hard and we sure covered a lot of the Sea of Cortez to find some porpoise.

I also had a nice conversation with Mr. Bobby Van Wormer. He is very interested in the second release of the book "The Unforgettable Sea of Cortez." He said that he would love to see this get done because the book is a classic. One of the highlights of my trip was sitting down with him and paging through the book as he told me many stories about the pictures and people mentioned. I have a picture of Mr. Van Wormer signing my book outside my room at the Palmas de Cortez.
