A 14-YEAR-OLD SCORES HER FIRST-EVER STRIPED MARLIN
June 21, 2005, Rod Albright, East Cape fishing, Baja California Sur, Mexico:
My granddaughters, Brandii, age 14, and Danielle, age 9, fished at East Cape yesterday the 20th of June, and Brandii caught her first marlin. We kept this one for food for the locals and we released Danielle's marlin to fight another day. We were fishing on my boat "Bill Collector" about 3 miles from Punta Pescadero. Both fish ate a bleeding dorado Zucker lure. The girls along with their sister, Megan, are visiting us from Southern California. There are a lot of striped marlin and some small tuna being taken now. Dorado is still slow and a couple of blue marlin are starting to show. Water temperatures at East Cape are in the high 70's and the seas are calm. The weather is great! |
