HUMBOLDT GIANT SQUID STILL BEING CAUGHT NEAR SHORE
IN BAJA'S EAST CAPE FISHING AREA

Humbolt giant squid continued to be found at East Cape a few miles offshore and the small tuna were still out in front of La Ribera. The billfish bite including sailfish, stripes and blues turned tougher this week. By week’s end, tropical storm Otis was heading by outside of Cabo and caused some rain but little wind in the East Cape fishing area. This morning, Saturday, only a few East Cape hotel charter fishing boats headed out. Judging by the whitecaps on the horizon, it may be a short day for everyone.
