EAST CAPE FISHING TRIP TO HOTEL PUNTA COLORADA

Nov. 13-20, 2005, Andy Atchley, Hotel Punta Colorada, East Cape, Mexico, Baja Fishing:

We had Mucho Viento. Despite strong East Cape winds, I, John Kovarovic and Mike O'Keefe of Imperial Beach, Calif., caught 2 Wahoo, 12 Dorado and 20 Tuna while fishing four days out of the Hotel Punta Colorada aboard the Pargo skippered by Fernando with Carlos as the mate. All fish were expertly filleted and vacuum packed by Jesus at the hotel and the excess baggage fee was cheerfully paid to Alaska Airlines.

I try to get to Punta Colorada twice a year and hope to buy retirement home in the area eventually.

Three buddies and I were at the Punta Arena lighthouse last May when the tuna was landed from the beach by one of Baja Beach Capt. Mike's party. What a sight to behold, seven of us hooked up, four people spooled, two sawed off and one landed in the predawn light. Something we'll never forget.
