SIERRA SHOWING UP EARLY IN THE WINTER FISHING SEASON AT EAST CAPE

The sierra showing up this year at East Cape has raised my spirits. I think I am top dog on the sierra this early season with 41 fish in my boat. That was with others and several trips so I wasn't over limit. The big ones are hanging around the hotel at Punta Colorada.

I use my panga and a little 12-foot tin boat, trolling bright colored hoochies fairly close to shore. The trick is to find the schools, play them hard and tight from first light.
