FEW VACATIONERS AROUND THIS WEEK IN THE EAST CAPE DIVING AREA

Jan. 14, 2006, Mark Rayor, Vista Sea Sport, East Cape diving, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

All is quiet in the East Cape diving area. There are not many guests in the resorts which means not many divers around.

East Cape weather in general has been very nice. There have been a few windy days but not near as bad as most Januarys. The daytime air temperature is in the low 70's dropping into the low 60's at night.

The Sea of Cortez, at 66 degrees, is a little colder than normal for this time at East Cape. Visibility has been good though, and with proper thermal protection diving has been loads of fun.

Today at Punta Pescadero, divers sighted a huge sea turtle, amberjack, yellowtail, snapper and loads of colorful reef fish. There is a school of grunts at Cerro Verde so thick you can't see the bottom.
