BIG SCHOOLS OF BAJA BONITA FOUND ON GORDO'S
SPORTFISHING CHARTER TRIP AT ENSENADA

Aug. 23, 2004, Dario Rodriguez, Gordo's Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico Fishing:

Our trip to Ensenada on saturday 8-21-04. we chartered a boat from gordo's sportfishing. left at approx. 5 am. at first we went for some Ensenada bottom fishing, but nothing productive. a few small lings, and some assorted rock fish. then the capt decided to move out and try for some top water. we found huge schools of bonitos attacking the bait everywhere. we were landing small bonitos on every cast, fun but nothing big. we did land a few big bonitos to about 8 or 10 pounds. we also landed some really nice yellow tail. we managed to bring up 3, the biggest one maybe about 20 pounds. lost about 5 yellows. we were using all kinds of irons, jigs, spoons, they were hitting everything except the bait we had, they were too big. great time, great capt.
