WHITE SEABASS IS CAUGHT SOUTH OF ENSENADA AT THE SAN JOSE REEF
Jan. 23, 2005, Sammy Susarrey, Lily Fleet, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico Fishing:
On Saturday, the Tamara fished at the San Jose reef south of Ensenada, and we got a nice 20-pound white seabass, very close to the kelp beds. The water temperature was 60.5 degrees, and we had nice 4-inch anchovies from Mike's Ensenada bait barge. Fishing inside the San Jose reef, we also caught many medium sized bonito. However, bottom fishing was slow at the reef, but some boats including Melody, and Cortez pangas did well on whitefish limits and some red rockcod and salmon grouper. |
